Roots Landscape Co
Our Philosophy
Sustainability Without Compromise
At Sustainable Roots, we believe outdoor beauty and environmental responsibility should go hand in hand. From xeriscaping with native plants to choosing long-lasting, low-impact materials, we design with intention and build with respect - for our clients, and for Colorado’s unique climate.
We take pride in offering landscaping services in Denver that conserve water, reduce waste, and enhance natural ecosystems, without sacrificing comfort or visual appeal.
A dream team you can trust
We’re not just landscapers; we’re listeners, problem-solvers, and partners. We know that inviting someone into your yard means trusting them with your space and your vision. That’s why we show up on time, communicate clearly, and treat every project like it’s our own. Our crew is detail-oriented, respectful, and always ready to go the extra mile.
Co-Owner & Founder
Rangler Stuckey
Sustainable Roots Landscape Co. was founded by Rangler Stuckey, a Wyoming native whose background in construction, ranching, and the outdoors shaped his appreciation for hard work, thoughtful design, and responsible stewardship of the land. He brought those values to Denver with a vision to build a landscape company that could create exceptional outdoor spaces while doing things differently—for its clients, its employees, and the environment.
As CEO, Rangler leads the overall vision and direction of Sustainable Roots, with a focus on company culture, strategic growth, and continually raising the standard of what clients can expect from a landscape company. What began as a small operation has grown into a full-service team serving residential, commercial, and community properties throughout the Denver area.
Rangler believes the best landscapes are built through strong relationships, attention to detail, and a genuine understanding of how people want to use and experience their outdoor spaces. Those same principles guide how he approaches the company itself: invest in great people, take pride in the work, and always look for a better way to do things.
Outside of work, Rangler enjoys spending time outdoors and, whenever possible, bringing along Jerry, his dog and Sustainable Roots’ unofficial job site supervisor. Jerry has been part of the journey from the beginning and remains one of the company’s most popular team members.
Co-Owner & CRO
Johnny Jimenez
Johnny Jimenez has built his career in the landscape industry from the ground up, giving him a firsthand understanding of what it takes to deliver great work in the field, build strong teams, and create lasting client relationships. Since beginning his career in 2011, he has grown from hands-on fieldwork into leadership roles overseeing complex projects, commercial properties, client relationships, and business development.
As Chief Growth Officer at Sustainable Roots, Johnny focuses on expanding the company’s relationships, services, and opportunities while ensuring that growth never comes at the expense of quality or client experience. His deep operational knowledge allows him to understand both what clients need and what it takes behind the scenes to successfully deliver it.
Johnny is especially passionate about developing people and building a company where team members have opportunities to grow. He believes that great landscapes and great businesses are both built by people who take ownership of their work and are proud of what they create.
Outside of work, Johnny enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, especially when it involves fishing, hunting, being outdoors, or getting everyone together around the barbecue.

With more than 20 years in the landscaping industry, Leigh DuFresne has spent her career turning plants and ideas into beautiful, lasting outdoor spaces. A horticulture graduate from The Ohio State University, she has designed commercial and residential landscapes, managed metro districts and HOA communities, and created award-winning annual color installations that bring spaces to life.
Leigh’s design philosophy is simple: make people happy. Whether she’s planning a vibrant seasonal display or overseeing the long-term health of a property, she focuses on creating landscapes that delight, perform, and feel welcoming.
When she’s not designing or managing landscapes, Leigh loves spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Frankie and Johnnie. Hiking, exploring, and enjoying nature with them reminds her why she fell in love with plants and design in the first place – creating spaces that make people feel at home.
