  • The ideal times for sod installation in Denver are spring (April–June) and early fall (September–October). These seasons offer moderate temperatures and more consistent moisture, which help new sod establish strong roots. If you’re looking to tackle sod installation in a different season, however, we can still help! Get in touch to discuss our unique sod care instructions for off-season installation.

  • Sod installation typically ranges from $1.25 to $5.50 per square foot, depending on the type of grass, soil prep needs, and yard complexity. We provide free quotes based on your property and project size.

  • We offer a variety of turfgrass options that perform well in Colorado’s climate, including Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, Tahoma 31 Bermudagrass and low-water blends, like Texas Hybrid. We’ll help you choose the right sod for sun exposure, use, and maintenance preferences.

  • Our sod installation includes complete soil preparation, grading, sod removal, edging, and mulch installation. We enrich the soil by thoroughly blending in three to five yards of high-quality compost per thousand square feet to create a nutrient-rich base. If needed, we can cut, fill, level, or reshape areas during grading to ensure a smooth, even surface before the new sod is laid. These services are available for both residential and commercial landscapes.

  • Yes—watering is critical within the first 30 minutes of installation. We’ll walk you through the watering schedule and help set up timers or irrigation to ensure your new lawn establishes properly.

  • Most sod takes about 2–3 weeks to root and become walkable, depending on weather and care. Full establishment can take 4–6 weeks, after which it can be mowed and used like a normal lawn.

  • Absolutely. Proper prep is key to long-term success. We remove existing grass, grade the soil, and add any needed amendments to support healthy root development and drainage.
